Jesus is my Savior

The value of words in our modern society has declined to next-to-nothing.

The increased mediums that one conveys their thoughts in, such as instant messaging, facebook, email, or chatting endlessly on the phone, have decreased the rarity of one’s use of words.

Let me try to be a little clearer. In past days, the way one reflected his thoughts was through speaking, writing a letter, or a through a piece of literature. Words were, relatively, scarce. But because of the superfluous ways in which we are able to express ourselves in words, hypocrisy has become more and more ‘apparent’, and therefore the weight and value of one’s words has declined greatly.

I know a person who has openly shared the fact the he partys (hard), enjoys the company of the opposite sex, and engages in long nights of meaningless acts of ‘youth’. I’ve no right to have a problem with that. After doing all those things, he logs in on facebook or msn messenger and writes in his status or nickname something that is in the lines of a religious declaration- a declaration of love for the Prophet and his Household- for God. And THAT angers me.

Maybe I’m off topic here… maybe I’m posting this out of anger and dismay…

But I really believe that before such hypocrites – whose words have no value whatsoever- can say something like Mohammad is my savior, or Imam Ali is my savior… I- a Muslim- have more right to say that…

Jesus is my savior.

  1. I thought Allah was your savior?

Is the writer a Muslim or a Christian? I don’t get it.

The only logical reason for you to say it is ignorance of the Christian faith. They say the invisible Jewish zombie is their savior because they perceive him as God.

Have you ever drank excellent wine and whispered sweet words to your special someone? It’s a tantalizing prelude to a feast that will tickle all of your senses.

My creed: Live and Let Live. Because life….is a joke….and death is the punchline!
I am free of delusion not because I want to drink, have “meaningless acts of youth” and eat non halal food. I am free of delusion because I want to think….without the fear of being thrown into an oven.

  2. You seem to have missed the point here.

First of all, I don’t care what people do with their time. Whether it’s drinking wine, or whatever. I’m not here to judge.

My point was that some people claim to be religous in every sense, but then go and do stuff that oppose the teachings of that religion- in this case its Islam.

So even though I’m Muslim, it is less hypocritical of me to say that “Jesus is my savior”, than for such people (hypocrites) who claim to be Muslim to say that we love Muhammad.

I live and let live, as you said. But I live by a set of principles that abide to an infallible set of morals. And that it is why I am free of delusion.

  3. There is no such thing as infallibility. Which reminds me, the Shia doctrine of infallibility has evolved, it wasn’t always like that.

The Tafsir given for the verses is absolutely ridiculous and not befitting to the Arabic language. As for Muslims who are hypocritical about their faith, well, religion was designed to become like that.

Free of delusion? my friend, you are full of it. You believe in so many things without physical evidence or logic.
“Your mind is too narrow to understand that amazing nature of Allah!”. That’s an appeal to ignorance, it can be used with any belief system. Even ones you’ve just invented.

  4. Without physical evidence?

When I see the sky that was built and raised without pillars, the mountains that stand tall, and the oceans the streach to endless limites, I see nothing but evidence of a higher power- of Allah.

AS for religion being designed that way, that argument is so weak that I won’t even engage you in it- becuae once you beleive that something is designed for people to by hypocritical, you stop beleiving in anything.

Infalabailty is everywhere. Look at the way the human body was designed and created. Flawless. Look at the way the solar system, the earth, the sun, the moon, planets.. they are in a flawless system… a delicate system… if you are a man of science you would know how precise everything has to be in the miracle that is the human body, and in the magestic solar system. To try to beleive that such things could be created by mere coinsidance is an appeal to ignorance.

  5. There is certainly a system and a bunch of natural laws in place. They only appear to be intricate to you because your body has evolved to adapt to them and not vice versa.

Religion: God designed your body to befit the environment.

Fact: Your body evolved so as to adapt to the environment.

I am a man of Medicine, the human body whilst the most evolved and sophisticated organism, it is flawed. So many useless muscles, a useless appendix, arteries taking unneeded routes and dna mutations. All show that your body is a product of evolution and not intelligent design.

It’s not an appeal to ignorance and let’s hypothesize that God exists, why would he care? You are belittling him, for him to care about something as insignificant as you. There is no need for Prophets or divine books.

If something is needed for us then we will reach it by logic and embrace it, if an idea doesn’t comply with logic then we do not need it. And that is why I reject all supernatural ideas. I want to live in a natural universe. You say my mind cannot fully understand it? That might be true but then again……that’s an appeal to ignorance……

  6. A bunch of laws? Did they magically appear? Or was it coinsidance that they were there!

God is merciful, that is why he sent prophets and divine books.., so that we know the right way and worship Him, and avoid his punishment.

It is logical to beleive that this great universe with precise systems and details were not “there” by chance.. it is logic to beleive that they were created by a greater power.. It is logic to beleive that we will be judged for what we do (and say) in life, and be rewarded or punished for such acts.

Whats illogical is to beleive that some natural laws happen to exist. Think about it. Who created these laws?

  7. Hashim (Bo 3zez) .. there is a famous saying that says “etha 5a6aboka alhahloona fa8oolo salama”

    Wise one:
These parts you call “useless” and not part of an intelligent design, were created for reasons that our simple human minds cannot explain. That is why a higher power exists; a divine existence that sees all and knows all in ways that we cannot.

Whether Allah or Mohammad PBU or Jesus is Hashim’s saviour doesn’t dictate his religion, for you SMART one, Jesus is actually one of our prophets too but we call him Sayedna 3eisa and he was too sent by our God (ALLAH) to spread his teachings!

    Hashim (Bo 3azez):
regarding our post, I know exactly how you feel !! It’s not judging what they do.. they can do whatever they choose to but for god’s sake be honest about it and do not hide your filth behind the Quraan’s beautiful verses and the Prophet PBU’s words as a blanket to hide your sins with! Hypocrisy is exactly the word!

  8. [sorry about my many typos!]

your post actually reminded me of one of the biggest hypocrites I have ever known.. a person who hid behind praise to Imam Ali AS and his flawless character claiming that he is his saviour and that he lives to live through his teachings.. this deluded many of us into thinking that this person must be as close to pure HOWEVER deluders are smart and know what to hide behind, for he was far from our holy Imam in every possible way.
People like this have no shame whatsoever and it just goes to show “never judge a book by its cover”
Character is in actions, not in words. For a fool is a man of many words ;)
