I don’t know what to take from it, new logo for a new era I think!

After watching the first episode of this newly (hyped) series and spending a day thinking about what to say or feel about it, I’ve finally came to an intellectual yet funny conclusion. First of all, even before watching the pilot, I’ve always had this idea that whatever my feelings were towards this show will be, I’m always gona compare it to LOST.. And in a way, that was the problem. I’m watching this show and thinking about how similar or different it is, in comparison to LOST. I wasn’t sure at first but after thinking about it for a while, I’ve decided to give it a chance. A (short) chance. I still did not watch the second episode so let’s hope it gets better.

All in all, I’ll give the pilot, 6/10 ..

I’ve been hearing about this show for a while now and as a devoted LOST fan, I will watch this show just for the fact that it has all the elements of a LOST-like show. Let’s just hope it’s as good as LOST. Although I doubt that any show can get as good as LOST (or even close).

“When you watch one game, you will get addicted to it”, My father talking about the NFL.

I just recently got into the NFL, watched some games here and there but my first live match was between the Green Bay Packers (my favorites) and the New York Giants (this Sunday). The Giants won 37/20. It was a very entertaining match and I think I’m addicted to this beautiful game. Learning the rules wasn’t hard, because when you watch any game, the commentary is just great and helpful. They explain everything.

This coming Sunday (22/1/2012) four teams will go ahead and play for a place in the NFL championship finales (Super Bowl).

Baltimore vs New England

New York Giants vs San Francisco

After watching the Giants play last Sunday, I think they have a fair and well chance to win the Super Bowl.

Keeping up with new technology is a job of it’s own. Whether it’s cell phones or laptops, if it’s new, we’ll get it. But is this concept or should I say, this new job, healthy? What are we benefiting from all these new gadgets, if we are actually benefiting from them at all? Let’s first face the facts, people now have more cell phones, laptops than ever before. Having only one cell phone is considered strange or odd! So is it healthy to have more than one phone or one laptop?!

In my opinion, it’s totally healthy to have more than one cell phone, as you can clearly see, I HAVE TWO CELL PHONES. Having both a Blackberry and an iPhone is in my opinion healthy and normal. Some say that having one phone is tiring enough, how can we have two? Well, I have a blackberry for the soul-purpose of using the BBM (Blackberry messenger). I use the iPhone for basically everything else. Whether for browsing the internet or sending messages, or anything else, I relay on the iPhone!

To be honest with you, using a phone for only one purpose (or one function) is kinda strange, but when it comes to the BBM, many can argue that it’s normal to use and buy a Blackberry just for it. The BBM in a way, keeps me in-touch with my Blackberry friends that don’t have iPhones. It’s easy and simple, and that’s the reason why people still buy Blackberries. As for the iPhone, I basically use it for everything!

This trend, having more than one cell phone is hard to duplicate (or do) when it comes to laptops. Specially if you own an Apple laptop. Because, and Apple users will back me up on this, owning an Apple laptop is enough for you. With an Apple laptop or a Macbook, you can do anything you normally do with any other laptop and more. It’s simply the best. So you don’t need to buy more than one laptop. The Macbook is basically enough.

So, we now know that we normally buy two phones but only one laptop. But when it comes to buying new phones or laptops, it’s another story. We, on average, buy a new phone every year or two. For most of us, we feel that the phone that we have is out of date or old after only using it for a year or so. Specially when there is a new phone coming out every year or even less. Personally speaking, I bought every iPhone there is to buy and relatively speaking, every Blackberry there is.

Note: While writing this post, I realized that I’ve bought a lot of cell phones!

While there are reasons to have and use more than one cell phone, I could not find any reason for buying a new phone after using the old one for a year or so. It’s pure “keeping up with the new technology” thing. But that’s fine with me. I want to keep up with all these new gadgets. I want to be up to date with these new cell phones. I enjoy having/using them. It’s not a job for me to have the latest cell phone, it’s a JOY. Not having a reason or a purpose for this thing or concept is OK for me and for many technology maniacs!

So the conclusion here is that it’s normal to have more than one gadget .. And it’s also OK to have the latest gadgets or buy new cell phones, after only using the old one for a year or so. Keeping up with all the new technologies is not a JOB, it’s a dream/goal for us ..

You can figure out from the title what I want to say. Twitter and the whole  twittermania is influencing the ongoing of this blog, and blogs in general. Since twitter came to existence, people started to move from blogging to tweeting. For one who don’t and won’t jump in with every fed (habba) I did not star tweeting at first. I blogged for a while, but eventually moved to twitter. Tweeting or the act of tweeting is cool, fun, and just better. I’m now proud to say that, Hello, my name is Bo Ali and I’m a proud Twitterholic!

After reading the ongoing (pre-flashpoint) I just wanted more and more. I always felt that Grant Morison wasn’t happy with the whole relaunch and had other plans for his ongoing, but anyways the reboot happened and I for one can’t complain because with the reboot came the opportunity to read monthly comics. Being from Kuwait, we don’t have comic book stores, so having digital monthly comics is a blessing for us comic book readers/fans.

I’ve loved what Morison did with this story and think that this one shot is a perfect cliffhanger for fans to have until the new ongoing comes out. This one shot was amazing and fun. I enjoyed the story especially Batgirl’s story with her going to this school in England, I though we needed to know what happened there. The second part of the issue was also great, Morison knows his Batman.The art was somewhat good.. with some problems. It just felt forced at times but all in all, it was ok.

What’s next now?! We know now that there’s an ongoing series but what we don’t know is that how will Morison keep on writing a story that has many of the pre-flashpoint elements, a perfect example is Stephane Brown being Batgirl! In other words, it’s going to be challenging for Morison to have this storyline in the new 52!!

Can’t wait for the new Batman Incorporated ongoing to come out!

In this action-packed blockbuster, Tom Cruise does what he does best, deliver an entertaining, long, and awesome movie. I really enjoyed the story this time, unlike the last MI. Great casting that supported, at times, the comic element of the movie. All in all, a great, recommended movie.

And with this movie, we end our (movie) reviews for 2011. I know for a fact that 2012 will even be better, we will get both the new batman movie and the superman movie.
